Step 2 - Duplicate the layer by right-clicking, then you choose 'Duplicate Layer'.

Step 3 - Go to the layer on top, and start doing the steps in the ICT HW #1, which is below this post.

Step 4 - Choose the item you would like to brighten, and choose the 'Eraser' tool.

Step 5 - Start erasing around the object, and because you have two layers, if you start erasing the layer on top, the one at the bottom is still there.

ICT HW #1 - HOW TO MAKE THE IMAGE BRIGHTER USING PHOTOSHOP

Before

After

Step 1 - Open the picture you want to edit in Photoshop. To do this, drag the selected picture into the Photoshop icon.

Step 2 - Then, go to the menu bar, and click Window, and tick the Layers.

Step 3 - Because you have the layers now, double click the lock button to make the 'Background' a layer.

Step 4 - Next, go to the menu bar again, and click 'Image', then you go to 'Adjustments'. There you will see the 'Levels'. Click that.

Step 5 - Look at the chart, and you will see that there is a white arrow, now drag that arrow to the left, to increase the picture's 'level',

Step 6 - After this, go to the menu bar, click 'Image', then 'Adjustments', but this time, go to the Brightness & Contrast. All you have to do is brighten and contrast the picture as much as you like, but if you brighten the picture, always make sure you contrast it as well.

Step 7 - Finally, go to 'Image', 'Adjustments' and then 'Shadows and Highlights'. Fondle with the shadows and highlights as much as you want, and you will see that the shadow will make the image brighten, and the highlight will show the details of the picture, but darken it a little.

Step 8 - Your image is now brightened! Now, all you have to do is save the image unto your computer!
